About the program

Since the courts have removed foster youth from their homes, foster youth and alumni are already involved in one or more legal matters. Foster youth and alumni face unique legal challenges that range from having a say in their own medical treatment to locating their siblings or other family members which whom they have lost contact.

The Texas Foster Youth Project provides legal support and guidance to foster youth and alumni across Texas. The Texas Foster Youth Project is a special project of Texas RioGrande Legal Aid, Inc. and is funded in part by the Texas Supreme Court's Permanent Judicial Commission For Children, Youth & Families.
